Chlorotrimethylsilane (TMCS) at 60°C is used for hydrophobization of silica nanoparticles. TMCS reacts with PFA surfaces, grafting methyl groups and reducing contact angle. The polymer's extractable siloxane content (low molecular weight species) accelerates this modification. Quantitative analysis from 6 nanoparticle processing facilities shows that PFA with extractable siloxanes below 0.05 wt% maintains contact angle >100° after 1000 hours, while grades with >0,2 og'irlik% siloksanlar aloqa burchagi 75 gradusgacha pasayib, yopishmaslik xususiyatlarini yo'qotadi.
TMCS sirt reaktsiyasi mexanizmi

TMCS gidrofobizatsiyasi uchun spetsifikatsiya bo'yicha yo'riqnoma
For direct heating of TMCS at 60°C, specify ultra-pure PFA with extractable siloxanes below 0.01 wt% (Soxhlet/GC-MS) and surface fluorination treatment. Require wall thickness 2.0mm minimum. For continuous silica hydrophobization (8000 hours/year), specify monthly contact angle monitoring; replace when angle drops below 95°. The premium for ultra-pure fluorinated PFA (40-60% over standard) is justified by maintaining non-stick properties in TMCS service where nanoparticle fouling causes batch contamination costing $10,000-50,000 per incident. For R&D or short campaigns, high-purity PFA (0.02% siloxanes) with 2.5mm walls and pre-passivation (24h TMCS soak before production) may be acceptable. When contact angle decreases below 90°, restore surface by fluorination (F₂ plasma, 10 min) rather than replacing heater. For critical applications requiring contact angle >105° for >5000 soat, har chorakda kontakt burchagi tekshiruvi bilan florlangan ultra{1}}sof PFAni belgilang.
